Summary:

Initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing and supporting processes. Incumbent typically reports to a Product and Technology Development Manager, a Product System Manager, or Unit Team Leader. Receives direction in the form of specific objectives. Recognized for understanding application of technology. Demonstrates ability to interface with team members. Key customers include: Project Leaders, Product & Technology Development (P&TD), World Class Product Supply (WCPS), Maintenance, Consumers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements processing methods and controls to meet quality standards.
  • Implement engineering and scientific analysis principles.
  • Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.
  • Applies engineering standards and procedures.
  • Recommends, implements improvements and modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and
    related matters.
  • Monitors assigned operations, reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing processing equipment.
  • Documents work to ensure information is retrievable.
  • Manages self in accordance with the expected behaviors of the Leadership Qualities.
  • Carries out all work ensuring effective Safety and Quality attitudes and practices.
  • Dimensions vary widely with assignment and typically include: Project responsibility of $.2 MM to $1 MM, Project team of 2 to 5 people, and Single or Multiple projects.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 0-1 year professional experience with Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Continuing self-development and/or progress toward advanced degree in related field and experience in a variety of assignments.
  • Demonstrated personal sensitivity and competency in design and/or use of engineering/scientific analysis systems/tools.
  • Problem identification, problem solving methodology.
  • Assimilates and understands technical information.
  • Process capability and Process Optimization.
  • Trial planning and implementation experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience with Quality.
  • Design communications
  • Product attributes / quality and testing.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Economics.
  • Materials and fabrication knowledge.
  • Engineering work computer systems.
